Curse Sir Walter Raleigh

Filed under: Uncategorized — tomemos @ 2:28 am

I can’t sleep because I’ve still got ten papers to grade, but I need a quick break, so:

During my class on Walter Benjamin, a destructively boring class (the professor is past his prime), I puzzled out anagrams from people’s names, starting with mine.

In high school, during a similarly boring class, I figured out that an anagram for my name is Mitch Rentho. Somehow, though, in the six or seven years since, I never figured out that another anagram is Mitch Hornet. Damn, that’s awesome. As an internet moniker that makes “Tomemos” look kind of paltry, but I guess it’s too late to make a switch of that kind.

Meanwhile, my girlfriend’s name can be anagrammed “A Slug Line Jams,” which I assume means that some line-dancing slugs are getting funky.

Time to get back to grading papers. Are you glad yet that you’re not one of my students?

  2. I agree with Ariela on the slug thing. Although it does make me happy to know that I’m bringing funkiness to even the lowest levels of the animal kingdom.

  3. No one seems to have noticed that “Tom Hitchner” turns into:

    Ron ‘The Mitch’

Which is like some guy whose fratboy friends all call him “The Mitch” when he walks into a room.
