Roll down the window and let the wind know that you’re here

Filed under: Get your motor runnin' — tomemos @ 10:32 am

Ladies and gentlemen, after seven years of being eligible for one, four years of saying I’m going to get one, and one year of saying this time, I’m really going to get one…

I have a driver’s permit.

Watch out, you 18-and-older licensed drivers sitting in passenger seats: it’s legally possible that I’m sitting next to you, driving the car under your instruction.

  1. All this hubbub for a freaking PERMIT? You haven’t joined the big boys yet, Tom. I thought this was going to be big news, but it turns out that the only big news from your world is that Julie’s name is actually Julia. That one threw me.

  2. Oh dear, are we starting the Julia/Julie thing up again?

  3. NO, we’re not.

As for the permit…I know when I’m one of the big boys. I’ll get the license this summer. A permit isn’t normally news, I know, but when it’s taken you 7 years to get off your duff it gains a certain newsworthiness.

  4. You know Tom, you come off as such a reasonable guy; then I find out you live in SoCal without a drivers license.

My world is in a spin.

  5. He also sleeps with a blankie. No joke. He calls it his “muff-muff”.

  6. Well, he doesn’t take blankie “muff-muff” with him on trips. Or if he does he doesn’t sleep with it. Or if he does I didn’t notice.
